2008 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Details

The theme for the 2008 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was “Cities in Wonderland.” With graphics inspired by the late Mary Blair (creator of the look and design of “it’s a small world”), the festival took guests to cities around the world with renowned cuisine and wine. Montreal, Canada; Reims, France; Barcelona, Spain; New Dehli, India, and more.

The festival takes place primarily around the World Showcase promenade at Epcot. A festival center occupies the old Wonders of Life pavilion. It is here you will find a wine bar (Champagne in the morning is always a good way to start the day!), a merchandise shop, a well-stocked wine shop that features most of the wines appearing in the festival, and a book shop. The festival center is also the location for the free wine seminars and cooking demonstrations.

The main feature of the festival is the twenty-plus food kiosks located around World Showcase. This part of Epcot has always had various forms of international cuisine available, but the selection is at least double during the festival. So, without further ado, here are the details about the food kiosks.

Follow me around the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

I discovered a really cool new Web 2.0 thingy today, posterous. It’s sort of like in between Twitter and full-blown blogging. You kind of need to see it in action to fully understand it.

Anyway, Catherine and I fly out on October 17 for a week at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. I’ve  previously raved about it being a great way to learn about wine, so I won’t do so again here.

With my own posterous web page, I can use my iPhone to take pictures, notes, etc. and email them so they will appear on my page. Posts will also automatically show up on Twitter.

Posterous may be just the trick for sharing quick wine experiences that don’t deserve a blog post but that also aren’t quite Twitter-appropriate. Stay tuned!
