About and Contact
Wine For Newbies 2.0 is the second generation of the Wine For Newbies (dot net) web site. You can still explore and listen to all of the podcasts, which (if I do say so myself) is a terrific way to learn about wine. But, for many, podcasts are still unfamiliar territory, so this site will present everything the wine novice needs to have to improve his or her wine knowledge.
If you’re an Internet power user, you can plug the RSS feed into your news reader to receive new articles when they are published. If you’re not quite that comfortable with the world of RSS feeds, you can subscribe to the email list and have new articles arrive in your inbox. Either way, the subscription is free, and I never give out email addresses to anyone else.
This site is created and maintained by me, Bill Wilson, an attorney by day and wine enthusiast by night (and on the weekends). I’ve taught wine appreciation classes for Indiana University in South Bend. I’ve helped put together wine tasting events as fundraisers for a local non-profit agency. I’ve written articles, gone to loads of wine tastings, interviewed winemakers, been quoted in Wine Spectator online, fought for consumers in wine shipping cases, kept track of how many wines I’ve had in one year, and other geeky things. I’m also a former member of the Society of Wine Educators–I let that membership lapse when Indiana University decided to not offer its wine appreciation classes any longer. If I was still teaching…well, I’d keep that membership active. Maybe I’ll join up again.
I’d love to hear from you and find out what you think about this site, but it’d be way better if you’d leave a comment to one of the blog posts. Comments and continued conversation are great, email is good, this form below is just okay.
