WFN 69–Michael Jordan of Disney’s Napa Rose Restaurant

by William Wilson on April 15, 2007

While I wish the audio was a bit better, I’m thrilled to share this interview with Michael Jordan, the lead sommelier and general manager of Disney’s Napa Rose at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Simply put, this is my favorite restaurant on the planet. (There’s a part of me that’s trying to figure out how to sneak out to eat there next month.)

Michael Jordan was kind enough to sit down with me to share some thoughts. We recorded the podcast right in the dining room, and you can hear the kitchen staff at work behind me. For some reason, my microphone wasn’t picking up properly, but Michael’s voice comes through loud and clear. He has a lot of good information to share, and I hope you enjoy the interview.

Show Notes:

As always, you can listen using the Podtrac player in the upper right corner, the iTunes Store, or download the file directly. Let me know what you think! (And, yes, I know there are a few electronic “beeps” in the show a couple of times. I have no idea where they came from!)

How did you like the food? One of my good friends is a chef there.
Hope you had fun in southern California.

The food, not surprisingly, was excellent. All three nights, just outstanding.

I try to avoid hyperbole, but I’d say the Napa Rose is the best restaurant for food and wine lovers in the US–and it’s not darn near impossible to get into like some other places!

I really need to figure out how to sneak out there for a long weekend next month, just to enjoy the food again. Anyone got a bunch of frequent flier miles they’re trying to get rid of? :-)

I can give you several suggestions for food and wine in Orange County. I just went to one on Friday that I will blog about this week. Keep me posted when you start planning your next trip.
