Tom Wark over at Fermentation has launched the first of what I hope will be an annual event, the American Wine Blog Awards. I think this is an excellent idea as it will showcase blogs in specific areas: Best Overall Wine Blog, Best Wine-Related Podcast or Videoblog, Best Winery Blog, Best Wine Blog Writing, Best Graphics on a Wine Blog, Best Single-Subject Wine Blog, and Best Wine Review Blog. I’ve already made my nominations, and it looks like I was first to do so (such are the benefits of waking up way too early on a Monday morning). I would encourage you to do the same. There’s a lot of excellent wine blogging going on out there, and it deserves recognition.
I echo the sentiments of many when I express my appreciation for Tom’s leadership on this project. I hope lots of folks will participate, and kudos to Tom for a brilliant logo.
