Pinot Noir and Merlot–Learn all about them

by William Wilson on October 29, 2006

Pinot Noir is one of the most seductive red wines out there. Rarely a powerhouse, it often provides layers of complexity, subtlety and (my favorite word for Pinot Noir), finesse. In Episodes 57.1, 57.2 and 57.3 you can learn all about Pinot Noir.

Show Notes:

If Merlot is more your style (and don’t let anyone give you any grief about liking Merlot), then you’ll want to check out Episodes 58.1, 58.2 and 58.3.

Show Notes:

  • Pavilion Merlot Napa Valley 2003
  • La Croix Mauregard Bordeaux 2004 [no info online that I can find]
  • Viega del Rio Rioja, Spain 2004 [no info online that I can find]
  • Don Miguel Gascon Malbec, Argentina 2004 [again, no online info]

It’s been a while since we’ve asked for donations, so if you feel like kicking something back to help offset the costs, feel free to use the PayPal donate thingy in the right sidebar. If you find the podcast to be worthwhile, think for a moment about how much you’d have to pay to take a wine class at your local community college or some other place. At IU South Bend, the cost is about $130 for the eight-week program. In some communities, the price would be even higher.

I love wine enough that I’m happy to share all of this stuff and not charge anything for it, but I really appreciate it when a listener feels the stuff is good enough to pay for.

If you’re not in a spot to donate money (and I understand that budgets can be tight), then perhaps you’d like to leave some feedback at the iTunes Store, Yahoo! Podcasts, or your other preferred podcast source.
